The Michelin Guide's review
This fine country house was built on the banks of the River Blackwater circa 1824 and painstakingly decorated by the Bond family, who owned it for a long time. The interior has a mix of bourgeois refinement and rustic elegance illustrating the customs of 19C aristocratic British society. The most remarkable piece is a barrel organ, which is still in working order. In summer it is pleasant to stroll in the gardens, which have a splendid rose garden.
