The Michelin Guide's review
Built in 1691 under the aegis of a Jesuit priest, this church features adobe walls up to 1.80 m thick and a solid cactus wood frame. The interior decoration is particularly noteworthy, with the altarpiece (1699), decorated in gold leaf probably by craftsmen from Potosí (Bolivia), one of the oldest in the region. The walls of the nave also feature a series of paintings by the Cuzco school (Peru) depicting nine arquebusier angels (ángeles arcabuceros) (17th century).
