Well worth the diversions
Park or garden
The Michelin Guide's review
Apart from an enviable position on the Mincio, the perfectly maintained 50ha Parco-Giardino Sigurtà offers the magic of Mediterannean plantlife, vast expanses of grass and interesting architectural and natural features. A success story that is down to Carlo Sigurtà (1898-1983), an industrialist who, after obtaining the right to pump water from the Mincio, transformed the bare estate of a 17C villa that served as Napoleon III's headquarters in 1859 into a lush garden.
