The Michelin Guide's review
The stunning National Park of Monfragüe (18,396ha) encompasses several wooded mountains on the banks of the Tagus (río Tajo) where it joins the River Tiétar. The park's ecological importance is due to its Mediterranean flora and above all to its exceptional wildlife that includes some rare, protected species such as monk vultures, black storks and imperial eagles. Watching the birds is truly fascinating, all the more so as they are not difficult to observe.
