The Michelin Guide's review
Among the various places where Mozart lived in Vienna, it was here that he spent a relatively happy period of his life. In 1786, he composed The Marriage of Figaro in this house. The opera, inspired by a play by Beaumarchais (banned at the time), had a considerable impact on the Viennese public. The museum contains numerous documents and artefacts relating to the composer.
