 Civil and military monument
  The Michelin Guide's review
Founded in 1788 and rebuilt in 1822, this attractive theatre, dedicated to the memory of Beethoven, is still used today. For its reopening, Beethoven specially composed the piece of music entitled the «Consecration of the House». The theatre's reputation is largely due to the genius of its famous director in the period between the two World Wars, Max Reinhardt, whose portrait appears in a medallion on the façade.
