Though dinner at Gloria doesn’t come with a side of personal space (read: you’ll likely be elbow-to-elbow with your neighbors as you dine), the tiny spot slays its Ninth Avenue competition with a trendy ambience, buzzing bar, and terrific food. It's a concise, seafood-focused menu to be sure, so start with the Maine uni with lightly smoked red pepper vinaigrette for a refreshing beginning. Move on to the monkfish in a delicate cider sauce and served with celery root puree and perfectly pan-roasted rings of delicata squash. Fish may be a focus, but it's that squash, with its deliciously creamy centers, that steals the show. No matter what you order, be sure to arrive with a fully charged phone, as these dishes practically beg to be shared on Instagram.
