This lovely 19C listed stone house, located by a road and just a few minutes from downtown Pau, deploys all its charms to the rear of the property thanks to the peaceful garden patio, shaded by a hundred-year-old oak tree. Inside, the stylish dining room sports herringbone parquet flooring and high ceilings. Chef Nicolas Lormeau is thriving in this plush setting and his inventive recipes are a treasure trove of plays on textures and harmonious or surprising flavours (such as gravadlax of croaker, green apples, oysters and runny yoghurt). From honey to chili peppers and sweet corn, Béarn produce often takes the limelight on the menu. Book well in advance!
