Orhan Yegen is at it again—this time bringing his meze magic to Astoria. The décor and demeanor of his Turkish restaurant make it feel like an all-day café—picture a black-and-white tile floor, forest-green trees painted on the walls and faux-marble-topped tables with sleek stools. It's all very bistro chic in here, except that Turkish is the cuisine.The menu is divided into a section of small plates—that arrive almost as soon as you order them—and hearty mains, like soft and delicious manti set afloat in warm herb- and garlic-infused yogurt, as well as snappy and perfectly rolled grape leaves stuffed with fluffy rice and crunchy pine nuts. Almond pudding brings the meal to an end, with the understanding that this is food good for your body and soul.
