This French brasserie occupies a unique old building with lots of history. In the 1980s, when it was owned by Nelsinho Rodrigues, son of the famous playwright Nelson Rodrigues, it was a renowned meeting-point for intellectuals. La Villa offers a concise à la carte, two fixed-price menus and what it refers to as ‘Os domingos franco-brasileiros’ on Sundays. Make sure you also try the fantastic bouillabaisse: a delicious fish stew from the south of France and one of the restaurant’s signature dishes.
