While ‘chope’ means to reserve a seat by putting a tissue pack on it in ‘Singlish’, you can call to book a table here. The Singaporean chef helming JL Studio in Taichung opened this Kopitiam concept to celebrate casual Singaporean dining. Try har cheong gai (fried wings in fermented shrimp sauce), kopi pai kut (coffee ribs) and house-made murtabak bread. Asian-inspired cocktails such as Tan herbal tea in a plastic bag are both fun and delicious.
