Egadi Islands

Useful information

Description

The archipelago of the Egadi Islands, off the coast of Trapani, is composed of Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo, all of which offer delightful indented coastlines and clear waters. Looking at the islands in their historical context, they were the setting for an event that proved decisive in Sicily's history: in 241 BC, it was here that the battle that would end the first Punic War was fought, resulting in Carthage surrendering Sicily to Rome.
