Useful information

Description

Kilmalkedar village is home to a Romanesque church, in ruins, built in the 12C. Of architectural interest are the carved geometric patterns on the Romanesque porch and the heads, particularly the one on the vault that is thought to depict the monastery's founding saint. There is also an old sun dial, a stone with engraved Latin characters and an Ogham stone.
