This national park and biosphere reserve is particularly renowned for its tablas, the result of flooding by the freshwater Guadiana and the saltwater and stagnant Gigüela rivers. This 1 928ha marshland is home to a wide variety of birds. The area offers pleasant walks, plus two visitor centres which provide advice on the most interesting footpaths to follow, as well as information on the local flora and fauna.
