Description

The Qing tombs, most notably those of emperors Qianlong and Kangxi and the empress Cixi, are laid to rest in this majestic and peaceful setting 125km from Beijing. Visitors here can explore the site in a relaxed and leisurely manner, strolling through palaces whose basements contain beautiful burial chambers, many of which are more impressive than those of the Ming dynasty, which are always besieged by crowds. An interesting visit, a world away from the busy tourist sights of Beijing.
