Useful information

Description

Soluntum, along with Mozia and Palermo, was one of Sicily's Punic towns. Inhabited by the Carthaginians from the 7C BC, it was destroyed by Dionysius of Syracuse, rebuilt by the Greeks, then came under Roman rule in the 3C BC. It is the ruins of the Ancient Greek town which can be visited today. Among the remains, it is still possible to make out the agora, baths, theatre, odeon and villas of wealthy patricians. The site offers a splendid view of Cape Zafferano.
