Lotherton Hall was given to Leeds City Council in 1968 by the Gascoigne family, who have lived in the region for a long time. It now houses exhibits from the city's art collections, including furniture, sculptures and fine silver belonging to the original owners. In the grounds is a tiny but well-preserved Norman chapel and a bird garden, which is home to around 130 different species.
