The nearly perfect semicircle of Al Hoceima Bay stretches between the eastern tip of the Bokkoyas limestone massif and the volcanic block of Beni Bou Idiz. One of the three little rock islands is Peñón de Alhucemas, a Spanish fortress that looks like a great ship all lit up at night. To see it, drive along the Ajdir road, which affords excellent views of the sea as it climbs up the mountain.
