Ankarafantsika National Park protects an area of dry deciduous forest and the Marovoay wetlands, the second largest rice-producing area in the country. There are various walks to introduce you to the region's rare species of bird, of which there are over 100, mostly endemic; lemurs and reptiles, in a habitat of baobabs and orchids.
