Description

At the summit of St Gothard Pass, this museum charts the history and importance, arranged by theme, of this site that was already a stopping-off point during Roman times between the north and the south, Switzerland and the rest of Europe. Each theme (roads, tunnels, postal services, strategic military importance, flora and fauna) is illustrated by way of models, photographs, reconstructions and explanations.
