The Parque Nacional Sierra de Boharuco straddles coastline and mountain peaks (over 2,000m above sea level on average). Supplied by numerous waterways and subject to heavy rainfall, it has developed rich and varied ecosystems, reflected by the wealth of flora and fauna, to the delight of "naturalists" who should make a beeline for the Hoyo del Pelempito.
