Central Anatolia
The Green Guide

Useful information

Description

At 1,000m, Central Anatolia is characterised by its steppe of endless horizons and ochre soil, which are guaranteed to mesmerise. This scenery is embedded deep in the collective memory of the Turkish people. The Seljuks, nomadic Turkish-speaking tribes originally from central Asia, fought decisive battles here against the Byzantines. Konya was their first conquest, and the present Turkish capital, Ankara, also stands in these unique undulating landscapes, dotted with turquoise lakes and steeped in history.
