Useful information

Description

This museum occupies a lovely neo-Gothic house that was built in the early 20C. It contains a magnificent art collection assembled by Fritz Mayer van den Bergh. Made up of medieval sculptures, illuminated manuscripts, ivories, tapestries and paintings, the collection complements those of the other major museums in the city. The masterpiece is undoubtedly Bruegel the Elder's Mad Meg, an apocalyptic vision of war in incendiary hues.
