Description

Established on a cutting from the Buddha's "Tree of Enlightenment", Anuradhapura, the capital of Ceylon, founded in the 4C BCE by the Sons of the Lion, was abandoned in the 10C. Its ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, impress by their density, scope and wealth. Rent a bicycle at the entrance and explore the temples and brick stupas at will.
