Description

Founded in the 6C by Queen Clotilde, this abbey is the city's oldest monument. The 12C steeple, now freestanding after the destruction of part of the church, is remarkable. The crypt boasts some Carolingian frescoes (c. 850, the earliest in France) depicting the bishops of Auxerre.
