Useful information

Description

The three-storey buildings of the 16C corn exchange (Antigua Alhóndiga) and former town hall (Casas Consistoriales Bajas) stand on what is today Baeza's main square, the centre of which has been turned into a public park. Beneath its arcades, lively bars, cafés and restaurants with an old-fashioned feel are the hub of the action. The town hall was built in the 18C; at this time its windows served as the official tribune when fiestas (corridas, fireworks etc) were held on the main square.
