Approximately 110km of a spectacular road with stunning views over the surrounding volcanoes separate the Dieng Plateau from the Gedong Songo site. Omnipresent volcanoes loom on the horizon, dotted with temples. Dating from the 8C, these shrines are dedicated to Shiva, as are those on the Dieng Plateau, providing a stunning vista. The main building of Group III, embellished with statues and bas-reliefs depicting Ganesh, son of Shiva, is particularly remarkable.
