The centre of Ciutadella park harbours the ruins of an old fortress, the arsenal, a Baroque edifice where the current Catalan Parliament sits. An oval pond spans the square, adorned in the middle by the famous sculpture by Josep Llimona, entitled Desconsol (sadness).
