Useful information

Description

Spanning 2 280km² of lakes and mountains, the Lake District is the largest and most visited of England's national parks. The cradle of English Romanticism, it has retained the magic of a wild land extolled by William Wordsworth. In his work, the poet drew widely on the enchanting landscapes, bathed in a golden light in the south and silvery in the north.
