Useful information

Description

Cathédrale Sainte Marie was built from the 13C to the 16C in the style of northern churches. From the central axis of the nave, you can assess the fine proportions and harmony of the building with its three-level elevation. Don't miss the Renaissance stained-glass windows (16C) and the wall paintings (19C). In the left-hand transept, you'll notice the chiselled 13C knocker on the door, called the "ring of asylum": legend has it that criminals on the run would find sanctuary here if they touched the ring.
