Description
In the heart of the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, the Lava Lands Visitor Center provides information on volcanoes and their effect on the landscape. A discovery path, the Trail of Molten Lands, winds its way across a field of lava and the nearby ash cone, while the summit of Lava Butte, a largely bare volcanic cone which rises to a height of 50m/164ft above the surrounding forest, is accessible via a small road.
