The University of California's Visual Arts Center is proud of its splendid collection of Asian art, including rare sacred ceramic artifacts (3C-1C BCE) and some exquisite Indian and Muslim paintings (15-19C). Western art from the 19C to the present day is represented by the likes of Bacon, Pollock and Clyfford, etc. German abstract expressionism is also prominently displayed. The projections in the Barbro Osher Theater reflect the inspiration of Henri Langlois' French Cinematheque.
