Useful information

Description

The Pont Battant, dating from Roman times, is the oldest bridge in Besançon; for a long time it was also the only one. On the bridge is a statue honouring Claude-François Jouffroy d'Abbans (1751-1832), who tested steamboats on the Doubs.
