The exhibition in the stable courtyard celebrates the outstanding achievements of the Parsons family, including the construction of the world's largest telescope in around 1840 by the 2nd Earl of Rosse; the invention, c 1890, of the first compound steam turbine engine, by Charles Parsons; and pioneering work in photography in the mid-19C by Mary, Countess of Rosse.
