This is one of the finest and most impressive Romanesque cathedrals in the region. It is something of a surprise to come across the building, tucked away in the narrow winding streets. The tripartite façade has broad, richly sculpted openings; an elegant gallery with colonnettes on high arcades runs along the right side. The interior, based on the Bari model, has columns with fine capitals supporting a triple gallery and a remarkable ambo dating from 1229.
