Description

The city's fine arts museum displays around 500 exhibits from its total collection of 8 000, providing an interesting overview of Western art from the 15C-20C. It also offers an insight into the city via works from the Bordeaux School. Its main attractions include four canvases by Rubens which are highly representative of the international Baroque style, and paintings by local artists such as wildlife painter Rosa Bonheur (1822-1899) and the Cubist artist André Lhote (1885-1962).
