This is the largest of Bordeaux's parish churches. Construction started in 1350 and continued for two centuries, hence the numerous examples of remodelling in evidence, such as the side chapels built from 1475. The building is imposing in size. In the first chapel on the right aisle, see a statue of St Ursula sheltering a thousand virgins beneath her coat. The modern stained-glass windows behind the main altar are by Max Ingrand.
