Wooden stave church of Borgund
The Green Guide

Useful information

Description

Located by the old east-west road, the wooden stave church of Borgund is one of Norway's most beautiful. Dating from the 12C and remarkably well-preserved, it is depicted by impressive and highly photogenic dragon's heads that loom threateningly off its roof. The interior is graced with 17C furniture and handsome sculpted animal heads.
