A stopover on an island tends to tempt travellers to do nothing but relax on the beach. But staying on Ilha do Mel without walking between Brasília and Encantadas, via Praia Grande and Praia do Miguel, would be a wasted opportunity. The best option is to set off at sunrise to avoid the hottest time of the day, and to take a dip in the sea en route.
