Useful information

Description

Designed in 1790 by William Paty for a merchant and sugar cane planter, the house was built using Bath stone; it is in the typical late-18C style, with a pedimented door and interior decoration inspired by the style of Robert Adam (1728-92). You get an idea of the merchants' opulence from the richly decorated rooms containing furniture and precious objects.
