Description
In the Middle Ages, the city and its region were managed by the Bruges Vrije, a sort of local council, and this was its Palace, rebuilt in the 18C in the neo-Classical style on the site of a former palace (1520), which was itself built in the place of an older building (the Burg), part of which can be seen along the canal.
