The Michelin Guide's review
In this museum housed in a former Methodist church, visitors can relive the history of this colourful, multiracial district which was razed to the ground by the apartheid regime between 1966 and 1982. The apartheid government wanted to attract Whites into this area near the city centre and the Castle of Good Hope following its renovation. While it is still home to many plots of empty land, the district is slowly being transformed and is now home to some of the city's most popular addresses.
