Useful information

Description

Teetering on the edge of a cliff, this fort with three concentric walls is one of the country's finest. It is thought to have been built during the Iron Age and occupied until the 9C. The Roman remains unearthed here provided evidence of the existence of overseas exchanges. There were also artefacts belonging to its former occupants, who would have made a living from farming.
