Erected in 1489 by François de Caumont to please his strong-willed wife, this magnificent castle was built in Italian style and considerably remodelled in neo-Gothic style during the 19C. The interior decoration was redesigned by one of its last owners, Josephine Baker. A well-researched exhibition in the castle illustrates her career. Make sure you take time to explore the park as well as the garden, which is the setting for occasional falconry demonstrations.
