Description

A superbly restored SNCF engine shed is home to the Conservatoire du Machinisme et des Pratiques Agricoles (COMPA), a museum dedicated to agricultural practices and machinery. The superb collection includes tools and machines as well as objects and works of contemporary art linked to rural life in the past and future. It also highlights the changes in agriculture and the representation of farm workers. The tour ends with the challenge faced by agriculture of tomorrow, namely how to feed 9 billion people in 2050 and preserve the planet.
