The Igreja da Misericórdia, the parish church and the former palace of the Dukes of Bragança - a fine 17C building in which the Regional Museum is housed - all give on to this elegant square in the centre of the old town of Chaves. In the middle of the square, notice the statue of Dom Afonso, first Duke of Bragança.
