The Michelin Guide's review
For those used to climbing up mountains to reach their summit, these caves will come as a huge surprise. The third highest peak in the country (2 182m) is home to a maze of galleries five of which are open to the public. In addition to its superb concretions, the Chiang Dao caves, as is often the case in Thailand, also contain Buddhas and offerings left here by the Shan people.
