Description

Founded in 1961 by Dr. Margaret Goss Burroughs in her home, this cultural and historical museum now occupies a former park administration building. The modern Harold Washington Wing, added to the structure's south side in 1992, houses cultural programs that supplement permanent and traveling exhibits on African-American life, art and history.
