Useful information

Description

This small local museum has an excellent section on the Coldstream Guards: one of the five regiments of the royal guard, it was founded in 1650. Like guards in the other four units, they wear the famous red tunic, the tall black bearskin and stand guard in front of the royal palaces. The Coldstream Guards are recognisable by the red plume on the right-hand side of their hats.
