Description
This "triumph" is the most spectacular in Córdoba and dates from the 18C. The archangel stands on top of the column and presides over this monument decorated with various allegorical figures. In Córdoba there has been a particular devotion to St Raphael over the centuries and his name is in common use. This tradition goes back to 16C when he appeared as the protector of the city. As a result, a number of "triumphs" have been erected around Córdoba.
